My reflection for the movie “The Ultimate Gift.”

Jason Stevens is the grandson of billionaire Red Stevens. All I can say is that Jason has everything, all the splendid and elegant things in the world. What more could he ask for? He can afford everything, but no, that doesn’t end there. He has a purpose. After his wealthy grandfather’s death, he leaves his family an unorthodox will. Jason was asked to watch his grandfather’s video shots and that’s when he knew he has a purpose and he learns that “The Ultimate Gift” awaits him. By the help of his grandfather’s bestfriend, Mr. Hamilton, He is the one responsible for all the tasks Jason was asked to do. If he finished that he would be able to get his inheritance by his grandfather. At first Jason balks, but his gold-digging girlfriend forced him to give it a chance and go. His first task was to fly to Texas, he has no idea what’s waiting for him there but his Grandfather’s friend “Gus” was there to pick him, Jason’s task was to dig fence-post holes in the middle of nowhere. He was full of complaints, but Jason sticks with it, realizing that he’ll have to finish the job to claim his inheritance. Other tests await when Jason returns, each assigned by his grandfather to teach the value of work, money, family, friendship and gratitude, etc. Time comes when Jason became homeless, there he met two new people, Alexia and her daughter Emily who is battling with cancer. That’s when everything changed with Jason. That’s when Jason discovers there is more to life than money, and money can be used to make life more for others. 3 things that hit me in this movie are:

First, before you get something you desire you need to work hard for it. You can’t be successful without putting a lot of hardwork in it, and Jason proved it. He was trapped by the druglords, he became homeless, his family ignored him but he didn’t stop living his life and he didn’t stop doing his grandfather’s tasks for him because he knew that, that was his purpose in life and that’s when other things follow.

Second is, after he recieved $100 million. He uses it to create a state-of-the-art medical facility for families “experiencing severe health challenges.” And it was his tribute for Emily, The movie’s strong message implies that he has become someone who will use his resources to benefit other people. Make your purpose in life benefits other people. Make sure that it has an impact to the people around you.

Third and lastly is, “The Ultimate Gift” The 12 Gifts, Jason learned about. The gift of work, The gift of money, The gift of friends, The gift of learning, The gift of problems, The gift of family, The gift of laughter, The gift of dreams, The gift of giving, The gift of gratitude, The gift of a day, and lastly The gift of love. They were all important. There’s many explanation about all the gifts but most importantly, Jason chose to become the better person for himself and for the people he loves. And Jason learnt to be grateful. And that’s all we need in life, I guess? 🙂

“Every happening, great or small, is a parable by which God speaks to us. The art of life is to get the message.”

“My first ever “Wall Climbing” experience.”

Yay hello! I’m back again with making new blogs and talking about my new experiences here in Singapore. And what I’m sharing today is my Wall Climb experience. It was really humiliating for me to try it, because I’m not prepared and I don’t know how things would work like the way it should. I have no idea that there’s a different ways to climb, there’s this one thing you called “belaying” it refers to a variety of techniques climbers use to exert tension on a climbing rope so that a falling climber does not fall very far. And the other one has no belayer, so it means all the effort is in youself, you’ll climb up and go down by yourself, you’re not depending on other people. And this is when trust issues comes on, It’s hard to trust other people but It’s harder to trust yourself but most importantly you have to trust God. But moving on, my first try of climbing wasn’t that bad, but It’s really a struggle because duh IT WAS MY FIRST TRY! During my first try there was someone belaying me and I have no path to follow, I just climb and climb until I’ve reached the top maybe it took me a lot of time climbing into the top because It was really hard, I don’t know any techniques but finally I did it. My first try wasn’t that bad at all. And Im so happy about it. But there comes my 2nd try of climbing, My Aunt is the one belaying me this time and I tell you there’s a whole lot of pressure in it. Because she’s the type of person who’s really pushy, she won’t give up on you unless you come through the limit. But I think, that’s a good thing?  And then my 2nd try taught me how to not give up easily. Cause when I’m almost halfway through the top, I keep saying I can’t make it, my body is sore already. After multiple times of saying I can’t make it, Gladly I reached the top. And to add on the deets, I am scared of heights but I can tell that I have conquered it! And for me I’m starting to conquer my fears one by one. And the minute you think of giving up, think of the reason why you held on so long. Don’t doubt on your capabilities. Btw, might be trying it again this week. 😉 Im excited. Would I learn new things? Surely I will try the one without belayer and then let’s see what would happen. How would I let go on the rope?

My Singapore Adventures 🇸🇬 (Day 2)

Hi there again blog! It’s my 2nd day here in Sinagpore. To start this blog I wanted to show you what is my highlight of the day and it was cooking a real food what I mean is a real meal. Im so proud of myself because it tastes so good, I didn’t expect it to be that good and my Aunt can’t get over how the food I cooked was so delicious. I feel like crying because for a first timer the food wasn’t bad at all, I hope you can taste it too so you know what Im talking about here. Not bragging about it but it was a really delicious food. Here’s a photo of it, It’s a ground pork with mixed vegetables and ofcourse some garlics and onions.

Im not gonna tell here all the details of my day, I just want to share what are the agendas that has happened. So after cooking, I already prepared for the day, We headed to Orchard road becase my Aunt wants me to see the directions going to National Museum of Singapore to familiarize because Im going there tomorrow ALL BY MYSELF. So goodluck to me! Tomorrow’s gonna be a busy day for me and special too. So after she toured me around we went to a mall to buy a Nutribullet because she wants mo to eat only vegetables smoothies, probably for the rest of my life. This is torture but nevermind it was still yummy. When we’re looking for a nutribullet a guy who worked there came to us and asked what we’re looking for and suddenly he asked if we’re Filipino and obviously we are and he is, He talked to us in our language which is tagalog and continue to help us about the nutribullet, I guess he’s a salesman there. So while he was making a demo about the benefits of the Nutribullet or how does it work my Aunt asked him some questions like how long has he’ve been staying in Singapore, and stuff then my Aunt asked him what was the course he graduated and he said Nutrition, He told my aunt he was very excited about flying and working in Singapore with a college degree and has his license but sadly he didn’t fit for a job in here and worked for a different category, When he was telling story he forced to laugh but there’s really sadness in his eyes that made my heart melt, That’s when reality hit me, this is real life. Education is really important, this generatio it’s so hard to find a job that fits your course unless you came from the best schools in the world. So for me I’ve learned to really strive for education, it’s true that education is really the key to success. So moving on after that we went to a place for the tourist in Singapore like some souvenir shop, and magazines you can read about Singapore like places, the history, then we went upstairs and it was like a very little museum about the culture of Singapore, starting from Fashion, their foods and their performing arts which gives me idea about their culture. Here’s some of the photos we took:

Then we ate at the Eighteen Chefs, Their food was so amazing it’s so yummy we ordered the Heart attack one, a salad (which I don’t really like) but I still ate some because my Aunt really wants me to learn how to eat vegetables 😦 She wants me to be healthy, and a cheesy wing chicken and an iced tea, their serving was really a lot that makes us very full. I really enjoyed the food so much and the funny part there was they served us free ice cream which is also really really delicious! Wooo, It’s a massive cheat day again! But starting tomorrow NO MORE UNHEALTHY FOODS. How do I survive? Well let’s see! Here’s a photo of the Heart Attack:

YUM RIGHT? Lol, anyways after that yummy unhealthy but yummy foods encounter we headed to a grocery store to buy some fruits and vegetables and some other supplies which ofcourse we didn’t take a photo of, so I’ll just say what we did. And after that we headed back home already and here I am making my 2nd blog, about to sleep. But there’s a lot more tomorrow. 🙂 See you again, blog!

My Singapore Adventures 🇸🇬 (Day 1)

Hi there blog! Lol. So …. This is my actual first day in Singapore. Here’s a photo of me with my aunt while riding a 2-floor bus which is a pretty cool experience for me. The coolest thing about riding this bus is the E-z link card. Some of you may think it’s so shallow, but for me it’s cool because we don’t have these things in the Philippines, we don’t have the advanced technology like they have here in Singapore. I just wish my country would also do this kind of convenient transportation so my fellow countrymen would feel comfortable and have much more easier lives. This is one of the things I envy about Singapore, their technology. so moving on, after the bus ride we were about to ride a train going to Somerset but sadly my aunt didn’t take a picture of us while on the train because she was bugging me to tell me which train to ride, because if I didn’t find out we wouldn’t move or ride the train but just what I’ve said IT WAS MY FIRST DAY IN SINGAPORE so basically I have no idea about the places and train stations. When I felt like giving up and just cry my eyes out I saw the “Somerset” station FINALLY! So the humiliating moment was done. Yay! I’ve overcome it.

So when we finally arrived at Somerset my aunt and I went first to this cafe called Dean and Deluca before going to the library in Orchard. We ordered a slice of rainbow cake and my drink was Iced mocha latte which is my staple latte drink. Not gonna lie, their mocha latte was better than the starbucks one. You know sometimes it’s great to try something new, because new things do good to us. We don’t need to settle for some thing that has always been there. We’re getting deeper there but anyways I enjoyed the cake and the drink so much probably gonna go back there. CAN I JUST SAY THIS IS A MASSIVE  CHEAT DAY!  😩

After going to the cafe, we headed to this cool library, I really like it in here! But the library closes at 9:00pm and we got there at 8:00pm I only got an hour to explore the place and it wasn’t enough for me actually. But seriously I will go back to this place (hopefully). So what I did in my 1 hour stay in the library was read about the history of Singapore, places to visit in Singapore etc basically everything about Singapore.  I really felt comfortable in that library, there were DVD’s to watch, you can borrow and bring home books and my favorite part is you can listen to music, they have different albums. yay, i love it there! 💕 (SO MUCH)

Just some add-ons, After I went to the library I checked some shop at the mall while waiting for my Aunt I’ve been walking for like an hour and suddenly I went to a jewelry shop and checked some of their stuff but It’s very shameful not to buy any of their items because I’ve been there for quite some time and just checking, so I’ve decied to buy a classic 3 set of earrings. Great purchase though 🏻 After that me and my Aunt and her friends met at the MRT station , We headed back home already and have some chit chat while on the train and bus. When we’re finally home, my Aunt pushed me to create or start a blog so here I am making one. I know Im not a pro, this is my first ever blog so please bare with it. Im hoping I could still improve. Then while making the blog I’ve decided to call my parents and bro and make stories about what happened to me the whole day and said goodnight, It’s already late so they need to sleep already. It’s a fun experience today! That’s pretty much it for my 1st day here in Singapore! I had a lot of fun today. Woooooooooo, still looking forward for the next 30 days…..
